Project Description:
Nestled in the rolling hills of Kentucky’s Owen
County, Owen Electric’s headquarters has established
itself as the most modern building in the area. Owen Electric
moved into their new facility on December 2003. The 60,000
sq. ft. facility is highly energy-efficient with construction
features such as geothermal heating and cooling and “daylight
harvesting” applications in major office areas and
corridors reduce the reliance on artificial lighting and
open the facility to the exterior views of the surrounding
country side. Owen Electric took great care in ensuring
that the indigenous beauty of their region was accurately
represented on the building site. Special features include
a community room for public use and a museum highlighting
the company’s heritage as a Touchstone
Energy Cooperative. |
